Purpose of the Garden Club of Dearborn (GCD) Email System

In support of instruction, research, and administrative functions, the GCD encourages the use of a membership email system to share information, to improve communication, to transact GCD business and to exchange ideas.  The GCD Board encourages the use of the membership email system and respects the privacy of users.  Mass communication through the GCD’s email system is limited to members of the Board for purposes that conform to this policy; these accounts are created when a member voluntarily provides a personal email address.

 

Appropriate Use

Those on the Board who are entrusted to use the GCD’s email system are expected to do so responsibly.  Mass emails must first be sent to the president of the GCD for approval and once the message is approved it will then be released through the administrator of the email distribution list.

 

Inappropriate Use

The GCD’s email system may not be used for unlawful activities, commercial purposes not associated with the club or uses that violate other club policies or guidelines.  Allegations concerning the misuse of the email system involving members should be communicated immediately to the president of the GCD. 

 

Security

The GCD attempts to provide a secure and reliable email system.  Users of the email system who have voluntarily provided their email address are expected to take appropriate security measures.

 

Confidentiality

The person(s) designated to administer the email distribution list shall do so by using the “blind carbon copy” function and therefore not publishing email addresses of the membership. 

 

Email Privacy Policy

We have created this Garden Club of Dearborn email privacy policy to demonstrate our firm commitment to your privacy and the protection of your information.

 

Why did you receive an email from us?

If you received a mailing from us, your email address is listed with us as someone who has expressly shared this address for the purpose of receiving information in the future.  We respect your time and attention by controlling the frequency of our mailings.

 

How can you stop receiving email from us?

Should you wish to be taken off the GCD’s email distribution list, please contact the GCD president. 

 

Sharing and Usage

We will never share, sell, or rent individual personal information.  Information submitted to us is only available to Garden Club members managing this information for purposes of contacting you or sending you emails based on your request for information.
