Member Policies and Procedures

  • Members are invited to attend Board (Business) meetings as well as General (Program) meetings. Attendance at four general meetings is a requirement of all Active members, except 25 year members.
  • Members are urged to arrive on time, sign in, and stay for announcements and program.
  • Members are encouraged to bring guests to any General Meeting, including the Annual Meeting in June.
  • Only approved Ways and Means items and those of the Michigan Garden Clubs, Inc. shall be offered for sale to members at the Garden Club meetings.
  • Program speakers, when offering items for sale to members, are expected to return 15% of sales to the Club Treasurer
  • Only Club related announcements shall be made at meetings of the Club. Members wishing to inform the Club of community events shall submit a written request to the President. Approved announcements will be posted in the newsletter and at the registration table.
  • Members or guests shall not use Garden Club meeting or events to promote or publicize business. Use of the directory for business promotion is strictly forbidden.
  • The public is invited to attend all general meetings. Guests may attend up to three (3) consecutive meetings at no charge. Guests who wish to attend a 4th meeting may be asked to apply for membership in the Club, or pay a fee.
  • Active members are required to support at least one approved Club project per year.
